Enable Automation and Safety

In the clip above Intelligent Material® is used to recalibrate GPS systems

Intelligent Material Solutions develops crystals and specialized electronics for location and guidance of pedestrians and vehicles. Patented precision-engineered, optically-active, photonic Intelligent Material® are used in pavement marking and guidance systems for blind and visually impaired individuals as well as systems for prevention of runway incursions by airport ground vehicles.

Platform:

The core IMS technology – Intelligent Material®  – comprise rare-earth doped oxide, sulfide or halide crystals that emit unique infrared and visible fingerprints when illuminated by very specific laser sources. Combining various types of Intelligent Material® with paint and using our accompanying detectors, the paint can be tracked by vehicles or our custom cane.

Cooperative Guidance System

Patented cooperative guidance systems allow both vehicles and pedestrians to determine their geo-location. Sensors recognize selected intelligent material coatings on sidewalks, crosswalks, roadways, and other paved areas. The intelligent paint absorbs light and converts it to electromagnetic energy which is subsequently read and processed by sensors. For vehicles, the signals may be used to determine operating characteristics and provide operation actions of the vehicle, as well as provide message content to support driver information and control applications. For pedestrians, it provides precise geo-location information.
